INLAYS AND ONLAYS
At Labib Dental Aesthetics in Orlando, we offer inlays and onlays if you have damage or tooth decay within the cusp of a tooth. An inlay is used similarly to a traditional filling, but looks and functions much more like a natural tooth. An onlay is necessary when the preparation extends out over one or more cusps of the tooth. Often, inlays and onlays may replace traditional resin fillings that failed or fallen out, since they are much more durable.
WHAT TO EXPECT
2 to 2.5 hours
First, the damaged tooth is cleaned and prepared for the 3D digital scan. Within seconds your teeth are rendered into a digital model and sent to our design software for Dr. Labib to uniquely design an inlay or onlay for your tooth. Your custom inlay or onlay will then be milled by our in-house milling machine. Once your inlay or onlay is finished being milled, it is ready to be placed onto the damaged tooth. Dr. Labib will make sure that the fit and esthetics is approved and will bond it in permanently. It’s that simple!
